Hadrian's Wall

This week, in History, we learnt all about Hadrian's Wall. We learnt about Emperor Hadrian's attempts to keep out the Barbarians and protect the Northern-most reaches of the Roman Empire.  The learning was brought to life by going outside and creating the wall using chalk along with the milecastles and turrets which were placed at regular intervals along the wall. We then played the role of Roman soldiers and Barbarians to get a feel of just how daunting the wall must have felt!
