Friday 24th April

A great end to a warm week.

How have we only been back two weeks? I feel like we have fit in so much learning already!! The children are amazing!

Swimming

Swimming is going swimmingly (excuse the pun!) Each child is growing in confidence and going from strength to strength. For the next two weeks, the children are doing water safety. This involves having an extra t-shirt (boys and girls) and shorts (girls) for the lesson. They will be wearing these in the pool so need their usual uniform on at school.

Geography

Geography is continuing to be super exciting. We have had the Ordnance Survey maps out and been looking at OS symbols and what they mean. We are homing in on Shirecliffe next week, the grid reference 35 90. We are learning you can find out about a place without even visiting it!

Writing

Over the week, we have learnt about Sir David Attenborough so we can write a biography about him. The children’s paragraphs are improving each day we write one. We are also working super hard on editing our writing before handing our books in too! We should be really proud.

Guided Reading

The drama in Podkin is increasing! The Gorm have invaded Munberry warren and Podkin, Paz and Pook are running for their lives! Can Starclaw, the enchanted magic weapon from the Goddess, save them?!

Y4GH

Our postcard this week is for making careful choices. Since Easter, Poppy has been so focussed on her learning and in particular with her writing!

Y4 PE Star of the Week:

Our PE star of the week is from Y4GH this week. It is for Parker, as at swimming she has excellent confidence, determination and stamina. She is also one of the children who has moved up a group – go Parker.

Y4MB

Our postcard of the week is for Lucas. He has remained positive despite lots of nagging from Mr B.
