A great first week back!
What an excellent first week back to spring two! And the sunshine has actually been out – hooray!
Writing
A new half term comes with a new book to base our writing around. We have been looking at the book ‘Lift’, all about a girl who is obsessed with pressing the lift button every day. What happens next when her little brother betrays her and begins to press it?! The children have written some excellent paragraphs that describe the character’s emotions and actions.
Computing
Our new unit is ‘How is data shared online?’ In our first lesson, we learnt vocabulary such as servers, local area network (LAN), routers, computers etc. As well as little mini-quiz questions to see what we have learnt, we also did a fun and slightly chaotic activity where we used wool to join routers and computers together across the world. We used a tube to send messages!
Swimming
We had our second swimming session this week. The children are now in three groups and showing us what they are made of already – we are so impressed with how quickly they have settled into the routine! We are very proud of them.
Y4GH
This week’s postcard goes to Odain. He is always an excellent learner and this week he has written an impressive paragraph, bringing together his skills and vocabulary to describe the character’s actions and emotions.

Our postcard of the week is for Junior: Be Positive. He has had such a positive week. He has had a positive attitude and made positive choices.

Our PE star of the week is Maryam. She was calm (which helped her make good decisions), focused and just worked exceptionally well.
