The first full week!

After our first full week back, we, the adults are exhausted but happy! Your children have made a massive (positive) impression on us. They have worked well, learnt together and showed us so many positives about themselves and the year group as a whole. A big thank you to them and to you for your support so far!

In maths, we are still working on our place value skills: recognising and estimating numbers up to 10,000. The children have blown us away with their knowledge.

We have started looking at the Anglo Saxons and their impact on Britain. Before we get to them, we need to learn a little about the Picts and the Scots: we started that this week!

In science, we looked at the properties of gas and whether gas had weight (mass). To prove this, we used balloons and a balancing stick. It was hard work but we got there in the end.

We concentrated on simple, compound and complex sentences in writing (including fronted adverbials) using the short film ‘The Blue Umbrella’ to help us create sentences.

We continued with gymnastics and rugby in our PE sessions: the children continue to give 100% in these sessions. Just a reminder – there is no PE on Wednesday.

Our Postcard this week in Y4MB was for ‘Learn Together’. It went to both Maryam and Shatw. They always work well and share ideas as a team. Well done girls!

In Y4MB, Evelina top scored with 34: for this stage of the year that is very impressive! These children scored 15 or over: Luther, Ronnie, Hamza, Ava C, Thleyah, Zainab, Darcie, Noor, Harrison, Shatw, Maryam, and Junior – well done to you all!

In Y4GH, Rayaan top scored with 29 – excellent! These children scored 15 or over: Amani, Jameel, Charlotte, Blake, Rakaan, Savannah, Sufyan, Hakimah, Odain, Benjamin, Leela and Ava.

In Y4MB, Junior scored an amazing 10! This is a wonderful start. These children scored 4 or over: Harriett, Luther, Joey, Ronnie, Ava B, Hamza, Ava C, Thleyah, Zainab, Olivia, Mikayl, Noor, Harrison, Evelina, Shatw, Lucas, Maryam, Amina and Junior. Boom!!!

Boom!!!

PE Star of the Week:

PE tar of the Week was for Leela. She showed good teamwork and excellent body tension in Gymnastics.
