Our first week in Y4

Wow! It’s only been three days the children have been back but they have been exceptional! We are already blown away at how hard they work and it is like they never been away.

Science

In our first science lesson for the unit ‘States of Matter’, we learnt what the properties of a solid and a liquid are. We then used these to categorise a number of things. Did you know that matter is anything that takes up space? Over the half term, we are looking forward to investigating what happens to materials when we heat them or cool them.

Y4GH

The first person to get the postcard for this year is Jameel! He has been given ‘Make Careful Choices’ due to how hard he has worked since returning, and how accurate he has been in maths.

Y4MB

The first person to get the postcard for this year is Amina. She, like most of us were a little nervous coming back and a little worried about getting things ‘right’. However, she showed resilience, battled through and produced some lovely learning. A big well done!

Y4 PE Star of the Week:

Our first PE Star was Lucas in Y4MB. Ben from EVO said, “He listened well, worked hard and produced good performances because of this.” Well done Lucas.

Each week, we will report on our Star of the Week, recipient of our Learning Principle Postcard and our PE Star of the Week. We will also share the achievements that have happened in the CLIC, Beat That and spelling test. As this is our first three days back in school and we have not had a spelling test, we will begin this section of the blog next week.
