The end of the hottest week!
Again, your children have been brilliant.
The weeks are speeding by – how are we already nearly half way into summer 2?!
Geography:
On the hot Tuesday afternoon, we went on a walk around the local area. We took clipboards, surveys and pencils and kept a tally of the different building types and transport links. We are going to use the surveys to help compare our area to Mayfield Valley after our visit on Wednesday next week.
Swimming:
Swimming is going swimmingly! So many of the children can swim at least 10 metres, without any floats or arm rings. Some can swim 25 metres! Each and every child is working so hard to their absolute best and this is so obvious when they have achieved so much and come back tired but proud!
Maths:
We have started a new maths block this week, on shape. This week’s lessons have been a hunt for angles, identifying angles and using our Pac Man right-angle measurers! It has been really enjoyable as well as rewarding for all involved.
Y4GH:
Star of the Week is for Bilal – he has been an absolute positive superstar and has giving his learning 110%!
Ellasu is the recipient of the ‘Be Positive’ postcard for her positive contribution to the Y3/4 Colour Smash event. She had an amazing time!
PE Star of the Week: Our Y4 PE Star of the Week is Orlando. He exceeds every week and gives his best effort in swimming lengths and doing exactly what the swimming teachers ask of him. Well done!

The Learning Principle (Careful Choices) is to Corey. He had a challenging start to the week but he showed resilience and made careful, mature choices that improved his week ten-fold. Well done Corey.
Star of the Week is for Ethan C. Over the year, Ethan’s writing has improved beyond measure. This week has been his best. Well done Ethan.

Y4MB: Aklil top scored with an amazing 103! If I didn’t see her doing it, I’d assume she’d had more time! Olly, Corey, Oliver, Brogan, Oba, Romario, Naom, Maisie, Viren, Sharon, Robyn, Muadh, Hannah and Ethan SR all scored their best this half term. A big well done to you all.
Spellings:
Y4GH: Summer, Bobby, Layla, Sonny, Narin, Finn, Olivia and Archie all scored a magnificent 10! Orlando, Harrison, Kenan, Charlie, Jessica, Mia, Kareem, Shayla-Lea and Esmae all scored their best for this half term. A big well done.
