Friday superstars

Another brilliant and very busy week in Year 3. Lots of highlights this week including going into Amy’s Garden to learn more about the formation of fossils and the story of Mary Anning. Both Mr Baines and Mr Boynton looked very flattering in a cap and pinny!  In Art, we started experimenting with charcoal, using it to create different types of mark-making. We also learnt more about the Stone Age and the different time periods, ask your children at home and see what they can remember!

It was our second attempt of the year at the Friday CLIC and Beat That tests and already lots of great scores and improvements on last week. Every Friday, the children will be sent home with a CLIC gap which is focussed on a question they got incorrect on the test.  Please go through this with them at home as that extra bit of practice really makes a difference!

CLIC Y3JB – After a week of practise, we had some great CLIC scores this week. Massive shout out to Muqeet, Cayde, Darcie M, Lexi and Alabbas who all increased their score by 2 or more.

CLIC Y3KB-  Some brilliant improvements from a number of children in our class. It is proof that practice makes perfect! A special mention to Seth and Rowan who for 2 weeks in a row have achieved 11 out of 11 which is fantastic. Well done to Jibraeel, Rumailah, Anabiyah, Olivia, Bietial, Ezrah, Umazia and Harvey who all increased their score by 2 or more.

Beat That Y3JB-  Some great scores this week and our first maximum. Well done to Cayde for getting 24 out of 24! A massive well done to Lexi, Ahmed, Omar and Darcie A who increased their score by 3 or more!

Beat That Y3KB-  All of the children again gave their Beat That a real good effort. Well done to Seth for getting 24 out of 24 for the 2nd week running! A massive well done to Zehra, Aubrey, Olivia, Aseya, Jood and Khadija who all improved on their score from last week!

Postcards

Y3JB - Our postcard for this week is a Learn Together and it is awarded to two desk partners, Ruby G and Darcie-Mai A. They have been working brilliantly together, not only challenging each other but showing great kindness and support in the way they have been working together. We also had a postcard from last week to hand out, well done to Roman, asking lots of questions and wanting to learn. A well deserved Be Curious card.

Y3KB - Rumailah who was so curious in our science lesson this week. She was so engaged in the lesson, asked some brilliant questions and applied what she had learnt to her independent learning.

PE Star - Goes to Heidi M for excellent listening skills in our first Dance lesson and creativity in her development of movement ideas.

Weekly reads:

All children have been given learning journals to record their reads. We ask for the children to aim to read 4 times a week and record it on the relevant page which can be done by the children themselves or the adults at home.

Y3JB- Wow wow wow, what more can I say. A truly amazing 17 children did 4 or more reads this week and are enjoying some extra social time as a reward today. They are: Mansoor, Muhimin, Omar, Yoseph, Ruby G, JJ, Muqeet, Eshaal, Cayde, Ahmed, Heidi M, Darcie M, Oscar, Lexi, Tyler, Savannah and Alabbas! I was absolutely blown away.

Y3KB- Unfortunately, we only had 5 children in our class who read 4 or more times this week. Hopefully, we will have lots more children next Friday! Well done to Seth, Adam, Hunter, Umazia and Ezrah. Let’s beat Mr Boynton’s class next week guys!!
