  • Fabulous Box Models

    Published 08/11/24, by Danielle Houghton

This week in nursery we have been creating some fabulous box models using junk modelling on our creative workshop. We thought very hard about what we wanted to create and which resources we would use to make it. We then used glue or tape to join our resources together. Our models ranged from cars to robots, mermaids and castles. What fantastic creations we have made. I wonder what we will create next?

  • Autumn in Nursery

    Published 25/10/24, by Danielle Houghton

This week in nursery we have been exploring all things Autumn! We went on an Autumn walk just outside the main reception to look at what is happening to the trees. We found out that the leaves have changed colour and are falling off the trees. We found pine cones and lots of sticks. In nursery we then painted our own Autumn trees using Autumn colours and from our experience of what the trees looked like on our walk. We also used pipettes to collect different coloured water and squeeze it onto cotton pads to try to create Autumn leaves. We were so careful and absolutely loved using our fine motor skills to manipulate the pipette and we were amazed with the colours that the cotton pads turned. What a fun end to the half term!

  • School Role Play

    Published 18/10/24, by Lisa Howson

Last week we had noticed that a lot of the children were enjoying ''borrowing" our registers and various other teaching resources to play school with. So we thought why not create them their own little school role play area this week, full of everything that they might need to play schools all day long. We have really enjoyed seeing the children role play, pretending to be us!
