12.10.26 Learning of the Week

How do we only have one more week left in this half term? It has flown by!

History

After learning about World War Two through our writing and reading lessons (mainly from books – Carrie’s War: Nina Bawden and When the Sky Falls: Phil Earle), we threw ourselves whole-heartedly into the topic. We learnt about the Blitz, specifically about the Sheffield Blitz. In our second component, we presented that learning and the thoughts around it on a canvas. We cannot wait to show you!

Poppies Trail

Next Friday, we have been invited to help set up a poppy trail on Shirecliffe Road and further up. We cannot wait to link our learning to helping support the local community in this fun endeavour! We have been learning the ‘In Flanders Field’ poem too; as a part of our weekly music lessons.

Enterprise – Photos and Frames

After the amazing success of our enterprise, this is the final week to get in any orders for additional prints or frames. Thank you so much to all of you for supporting us and purchasing our efforts.

Y6GH

The postcard for this week goes to Ashton, for Be Positive. He comes in ready and raring to go every morning and has settled into year six brilliantly. We are all very proud of how positively he takes on all his learning. Our Star of the Week is Archie, who is always hard-working and helpful.

Y6 PE Star of the Week

This week’s PE Star is from Y6GH. The Star goes to Shayla for showing utter resilience! She hurt herself multiple times, and each and every time got back up again and continued to give it her all!

Y6KH Our postcard this week goes to Viren – it could be any one to be fair but we’ve chosen Solve Problems for the way he has approached some tricky multi-step problems in maths. Our Star of the Week for the final week of this half-term will be Corey, who is someone that is an excellent role model to other children as he always follows the Golden Rules and produces work of a high quality.
