Friday superstars

Lots of active learning in Y3 this week. We have continued with our ‘cave walls’, adding figure and animal details. In writing we have written some beautiful setting descriptions of the amazing world the Croods discover outside their cave and in Maths we have continued to blow teachers away with our addition and subtraction skills!
We are all really getting used to doing our Y3 CLIC and Beat That tests now and that is reflected in the improvement in scores across lots of children. Each week the children will have a CLIC gap written in their journal which they can practise at home. If they then show us in class, we can give them a star stamp!
CLIC Y3JB – Three maximum scores this week, well done to Alabbas, Cayde and Arlo. Record scores as well this week for Omar, Muqeet and Tyler.
CLIC Y3KB- We have again improved our average score this week in CLIC with lots of improvements from lots of our children. Our children are using the methods they have been shown in class and are successfully using these in their CLIC tests. Well done to Jibraeel,, Leo, Anabiyah, Aubrey, Olivia, Darcie, Khadija, Umazia and Grayson who all achieved their highest score of the term so far. A special mention to Seth, Adam and Rowan for gaining 11 out of 11 yet again!
Beat That Y3JB- We found it a bit trickier this week. Lots of children received timetables cards at parents evening this week, make sure you are practising them at home. Only one person achieved their highest score this week, well done to Yoseph. Also a special mention to Alabbas for a maximum score of 24.
Beat That Y3KB- Our Beat That test was harder this week than it has been previously, which is another reason why we need the children learning their times tables at home. However, some improved scores from Edoardo, Anabiyah and Ezrah. Full marks again from Seth, getting 24 out of 24. Well done all
Spellings Y3JB- Lots of great scores in spellings this week. Maximum scores for all these children: Mansoor, Muhimin, Darcie A, Yoseph, Muqeet, Cayde, Heidi M, Alabbas and Ameerah.
Spellings Y3KB- This has definitely been our best year yet with our spelling test results. Lots of children gained 10 out of 10 this week which is fantastic. Well done Jesse, Zehra, Adam, Rumailah, Summer, Hunter, Darcie, Seth, Rowan, Khadija, Umazia, Grayson and Harvey. Great work guys!
Postcards
Y3JB - Our Reflect and Share postcard this week goes to Savannah. You are making all the right choices, contributing great ideas in class and working really hard, well done.
Y3KB - Our postcard goes to Adam this week who could have any postcard any week! He is brilliant at sharing his ideas and contributing in class discussions. He is always so eager to learn, which is brilliant!
PE Star - Our PE star this week is Omar for always being positive in his EVO lessons and listening to instructions.
Weekly reads:
All children have been given learning journals to record their reads. We ask for the children to aim to read 4 times a week and record it on the relevant page which can be done by the children themselves or the adults at home.
Y3JB- 18, yes that's right, 18 children achieved 4 or more reads this week. Superstar reading award to Muhmin, Omar, Yoseph, Jessica, Ruby G, Arlo, Muqeet, Eshaal, Cayde, Ahmed, Heidi M, Darcie M, Oscar, Lexi, Ruby W, Savannah, Alabbas and Ameerah.
Y3KB- A slight improvement on last week with 12 children reading 4 or more times and therefore having 5 extra minutes of social time. Well done Jibraeel, Adam, Leo, Anabyah, Aubrey, Summer, Hunter, Olivia, Seth, Rowan, Ezrah and Umaiza. We still have some children who are not bringing their journals on a Friday to school and some who have not recorded any reads this year so far. This needs to really improve!
