09.10.26 Learning and successes

We have had a sensational week!

Whose Shoes Will You Choose?

We have been so lucky this week – we have been inundated with opportunities for the children to find out about a whole host of careers! We have been to talk to a dentist, our very own Mr B and Mr Steele, chemical pathologists, a doctor, an owner of a restaurant (they brought brownies!), an engineer, our very own Rachel with experience of being an estate agent and many others. All children got to experience an assembly with the team from Sheffield Tracks and watch producer Phil in action! We also had a fascinating session with Dr Itai – a lead in Mechanical Manufacturing. Our eyes have been opened to a whole array of future careers; and at the same time, we have been entrepreneurs ourselves with our frames and photographs!

Maths

You may have seen steam seeping from our classrooms this week as we stuck our teeth into some challenging maths! The week started with three lessons on short and long division. Each child has given it their all – working through each step of the process and pushing themselves to recall all the different skills required. Even Mrs Heaver got herself in a muddle! We are proud of them all.

Parents Evening

Thank you so much to everyone who made it to parents evening this week. We had so many productive learning conversations and loved talking about your children. We have another set of appointments next week but if you missed your appointment then please come and see us to rearrange as the discussions are essential – especially in their final year of primary school!

Y6GH

Ellasu is receiving our postcard this week. She has recognised the impact of how hard she is working on her learning and shared this with her family before coming to parents evening. I am so proud of her. Our Star of the Week this week is for Kareem. He has really worked hard this week to write two excellent, descriptive paragraphs; as well as really pushing himself with his presentation.

Y6KH

This week our postcard goes Amina for making careful choices – it doesn’t matter whether this is how she presents her learning, how she conducts herself around school or how hard she tries when learning is tricky! to Our Star of the Week this week is for Oliver Barton, who always puts in a lot of effort with his learning and follows the Golden Rules easily.

Y6 PE Star of the Week

This week’s PE Star is from Y6KH. It is for Lily-Rose. Her enthusiasm and engagement with every PE lesson is just amazing!
