Friday Superstars

Lots of active learning in Y3 this week. We have created our own ‘cave walls’ this week in Art by using lots of different markings with charcoal. It has been setting descriptions in Writing this week; we have written about The Croods (a Stone Age family) in their cave. For science, we recapped what is inside soil whilst looking at our lovely wormery!
We are all really getting used to doing our Y3 CLIC and Beat That tests now and that is reflected in the improvement in scores across lots of children. Each week the children will have a CLIC gap written in their journal which they can practise at home. If they then show us in class, we can give them a star stamp!
CLIC Y3JB – We beat our highest average score in our CLIC this week with lots of children getting the addition and subtraction questions which we had worked on in class this week correct. Well done to Mansoor, Muhimin, Yoseph, Jessica, Roman, Willow and Ameerah who beat their highest score. Special mention to Cayde for getting a perfect 11 out of 11!
CLIC Y3KB- We also beat our average score this week in CLIC with lots of improvements from lots of our children. Well done to Jesse, Rumailah, Anabiyah, Aubrey, Darcie, Bietial, Jood, Sky, Ezrah and Grayson who all achieved their highest score so far this year. A special mention to Seth, Adam and Rowan for gaining 11 out of 11 yet again!
Beat That Y3JB- We can see that some of our children are practising their times tables at home and this is reflected in their scores. Well done to Jessica, Ahmed, Heidi M, Willow, Tyler and Ameerah who beat their highest score. Special mention to Cayde and Alabbas for perfect 24 out of 24 scores!
Beat That Y3KB- Yet again we have improved our average Beat That score this week. Lots of new high scores. Well done to Jibraeel, Zehra, Murtaza, Adam, Leo, Aubrey, Khadija, Ezrah and Grayson for achieving their best score so far this year! Another special mention to Seth who scored 24 out of 24!
Spellings Y3JB- Clearly lots of practice going on as some amazing scores this week. All these children scored maximum marks- Mansoor, Muhimin, Eshaal, Ahmed, Heidi M, Savannah and Ameerah. Lots and lots of 9 out of 10s too. Well done!
Spellings Y3KB- A good week on our spelling tests too in our class. Well done to Adam, Leo, Hunter, Olivia, Seth, Jood and Ezrah who all scored 9 or more out of 10.
Postcards
Y3JB - Our Value Being Special postcard this week has gone to Cayde. He has settled into Year 3 really well and has begun to really get used to having a new teacher. Well done Cayde!
Y3KB - Our postcard goes to Umazia this week. She has had a great week this week in class. Working hard, making some careful choices with her learning especially in writing by choosing some great vocabulary.
PE Star - Our PE star this week is Rowan. He was a great example to the rest of the class demonstrating our new dance to his peers.
Weekly reads:
All children have been given learning journals to record their reads. We ask for the children to aim to read 4 times a week and record it on the relevant page which can be done by the children themselves or the adults at home.
Y3JB- You absolutely smashed it Year 3. 18 of you have done 4 or more reads this week.Well done to Muhimin, Omar, Darcie A, Yoseph, Jessica, Ruby G, JJ, Arlo, Muqeet, Eshaal, Cayde, Ahmed, Heidi M, Darcie M, Oscar, Lexi, Ruby W, Savannah and Alabbas for doing this. Extra special mention to Lexi, Ruby G and Heidi M who have already achieved their autumn 40 reads, truly amazing!
Y3KB- A slight improvement this week with 11 children reading 4 or more times at home. We still need more children to be reading and recording them in their journals. There are still some children in our class who have recorded 0 reads all year. A fantastic effort from Jibraeel, Adam, Leo, Anabiyah, Aubrey, Olivia, Seth, Rowan, Bietial, Ezrah and Umazia.
