Friday superstars
Lots of active learning in Y3 this week. We went into Amy’s Garden and found out about what is in our soil. We also got to build our new class wormery! In writing, we continued writing excellent sentences all about the book we are reading, ‘How to wash a wooly mammoth’. Our Art lessons have continued all our learning about Stone Age drawing and we have been practising different shading techniques with the charcoal.! All the photos for these exciting lessons will be on the blog next Wednesday!
We are all really getting used to doing our Y3 CLIC and Beat That tests now and that is reflected in the improvement in scores across lots of children. Each week the children will have a CLIC gap written in their journal which they can practise at home. If they then show us in class, we can give them a star stamp!
CLIC Y3JB – Four notable performances to mention this week. Darcie M, Arlo, Riley and Tyler all beat their record scores. Well done to you guys, keep up the hard work.
CLIC Y3KB- Another good effort in our class this week taking our average score to just under 6 out of 11!. Huge improvements from Hunter, Biteial, Umazia and Jesse. Three children gained full marks for yet another week. Well done Adam, Seth and Rowan.
Beat That Y3JB- Three record scores in our Beat That this week. Well done to Roman, Arlo and Heidi M who beat their record scores.
Beat That Y3KB- Mr Baines and Mrs Colley are so impressed with the Beat That scores this week. Lots of new high scores. Well done to Zehra, Rumailah, Adam, Anabiyah, Hunter, Olivia, Aseya, Jood and Umaiza for achieving their best score so far this year!
Spellings Y3JB- A really good start to spellings for some of our children. Well done to the following children who scored 8 or more out of 10: Darcie A, Arlo, Muqeet, Ahmed, Heidi M, Oscar, Alabbas and Ameerah. Jessica and Muhimin were also superstars getting 5 out of 5 with their spellings.

Postcards
Y3JB - Our postcard this week goes to Muhimin. He has settled into Year 3 really well, is showing great active listening in our lessons and giving 100%. Well done Muhimin!
Y3KB - Our postcard goes to Summer this week. She has had such a brilliant week and a great start to Year 3. She has been working so hard and has been so bubbly and smiley. Well done Summer, keep it up!
PE Star - Our PE star this week is Savannah for both inside and outside of school! In Dance, she developed excellent ideas and worked brilliantly in her group. She has also shared with us the trampolining competition she was part of outside of school.
Weekly reads:
All children have been given learning journals to record their reads. We ask for the children to aim to read 4 times a week and record it on the relevant page which can be done by the children themselves or the adults at home.
Y3JB- A bit of a dip with reading from some children and some that really need to start recording their reads but also lots and lots of success to celebrate. Well done to Muhimin, Jessica, Ruby G, JJ, Muqeet, Eshaal, Cayde, Ahmed, Heidi M, Oscar, Lexi, Savannah and Alabbas who all achieved 4 or more reads.
Y3KB- We have gone backwards this week with only 9 children reading 4 or more times at home. We need all children to be reading and recording them in their journals. A fantastic effort from Jibraeel, Adam, Anabiyah, Aubrey, Hunter, Olivia, Seth, Rowan and Ezrah. Keep it up all of you!
