Friday Superstars
Another brilliant and very busy week in Year 3. Lots of highlights this week including going into Amy’s Garden again but this time to learn more about the layers in the soil and all the wonderful colours the soil absorbs. We also showed this through using skittles and warm water to show the colours merging together to create the same colour as soil. In Art, we learnt how to draw as a cave person would. We used charcoal again and the children produced some brilliant drawings of Stone Age people and animals.
It was our third attempt of the year at the Friday CLIC and Beat That tests and already lots of great scores and improvements on last week. Every Friday, the children will be sent home with a CLIC gap which is focussed on a question they got incorrect on the test. Please go through this with them at home as that extra bit of practice really makes a difference!
CLIC Y3JB – We are really starting to get the hang of our CLIC and making improvements. One maximum this week, Cayde but all these people beat their record score by at least 2 marks- Hedi A, Yoseph, JJ, Oscar, and Ruby W.
CLIC Y3KB- Again, the children have worked super hard on their CLIC tests this week and there have been improvements for a lot of children again this week. Well done again to Seth and Rowan who for another week have achieved 11 out of 11 which is fantastic. Well done to Jesswe, Jibraeel, Leo, Aubrey, Summer, Hunter, Olivia, Aseya, Bietial, and Khadija who all increased their score by 2 or more. These are brilliant guys, well done all!
Beat That Y3JB- One maximum 24 out of 24 scores this week, Alabbas, well done. Mansoor made a massive jump from 2 to 7 this week. Ahmed also beat his record score. Everyone else needs to make sure they are practising hard at home to keep their scores improving.
Beat That Y3KB- All of the children again gave their Beat That a real good effort. Some big improvements from Leo, Anabiyah, Aubrey and Summer. We have to give a mention to Bietial this week who jumped from 3 to 16 this week which is fantastic!!
Postcards
Y3JB - A really well deserved Be Curious postcard this week. Ruby W is always asking brilliant questions and sharing her ideas in class. As well as that, she always gives 100%, well done Ruby!
Y3KB - Our postcard goes to Sky this week. She has been so engaged in writing lessons this week, she has contributed some brilliant ideas and has worked really hard to complete her learning. It has been brilliant to see Sky so keep it up!
PE Star - Goes to Sky as well! She followed all instructions during her PE lesson with EVO and was a great team player!
Weekly reads:
All children have been given learning journals to record their reads. We ask for the children to aim to read 4 times a week and record it on the relevant page which can be done by the children themselves or the adults at home.
Y3JB- Wow wow wow, what more can I say. A truly amazing 17 children did 4 or more reads this week and are enjoying some extra social time as a reward today. They are: Mansoor, Muhimin, Omar, Yoseph, Ruby G, JJ, Muqeet, Eshaal, Cayde, Ahmed, Heidi M, Darcie M, Oscar, Lexi, Tyler, Savannah and Alabbas! I was absolutely blown away.
Y3KB- Mr Baines and Mrs Colley are much happier this week! We have had double the amount of children read compared to last week. We had 10 children read 4 or more times and therefore had 5 minutes of extra social time. Well done Jesse, Jibraeel, Adam, Aubrey, Olivia, Darcie, Seth, Rowan, Ezrah and Umazia.
