11.09.26 Y6 Learning

For our first full week back after the holidays the children have been amazing!!! We have loved having them every day and seeing what they’re made of!

Art

We have had an amazing start with art, as you may have seen from the photos on the blog post. We have been looking at how the elements of packaging, or illustrations, are thought through and studied the process. Over our two afternoons, we have produced three pages of visual notes – all with a different focus. The learning the children have produced has been amazing! Next week, we will focus more in on typography; recapping their learning from last year.

The postcard recipient for this week is Bilal. He has worked really hard all week, particularly on his writing but the Reflect and Share element of the postcard is for sharing with his thoughts and knowledge from our visit to Cannon Hall Farm – it really was a delight! Our Star of the Week for next week is Ashton. He has settled in brilliantly to year 6 and is always a superstar!

The postcard recipient for this week is Thanos, who thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Cannon Hall Farm. He has settled well into Y6 life and had a go at everything. Our Star of the Week for next week is Charlie. He has made great contributions to Y6 so far, especially in reading.

Y6 PE Star of the Week

This week’s PE Star is from Y6KH. It is for Aklil, who is always making excellent contributions to her PE lessons.

Y6GH: The Roman Numerals question perplexed us this week! No full marks for our room, but six lots of 11. Well done to Veda, Harrison, Narin, Jacob, Esmae and Archie.

Y6KH: Another set of 11s in this class too. Good job to Amina, Aklil, Charlie, Darice, Robyn and Ivy!

Beat That

Y6GH: The top score of today, with a paper flip, was Archie with 80; closely followed by Veda with 79! Such fast thinking! Bobby scored 67 and Kenan 62. Everyone gave it their all!

Y6KH: 99 for Aklil this week – wow! Full marks for Charlie and 69 for Corey and 62 for Darcie. Such great thinking brains for everyone.

Spelling

Y6GH: A great start back to our spellings. 16 children gained full marks: Veda, Summer, Orlando, Koby, Amira, Bobby, Layla, Ashton, Sonny, Narin, Alyssiah, Louie, Kareem, Esmae, Ellasu, Olivia and Archie. Well done guys!

Y6KH: An amazing set of scores, showing all the hardwork: Amina, Bayan, Aklil, Noah, Corey, Kamari, Oba, Naom, Lewis, Maisie, Sharon, Antoni, Darcie, Lily-Rose, Robyn, Muadh, Hannah, Ethan SR and Ivy all got full marks! That’s an amazing 20 children!
