What a fantastic week!

Wow! How have we completed two weeks of this half term already?! Thank goodness the weather has given us a break too!

Our Visit

We couldn’t blog this week without talking about our amazing visit! The day was such an amazing opportunity and fun was had by all – some challenges were definitely met too. We started the day with glow-in-the-dark Zumba. Each child had a glow stick, and when the lights were off the dancing started! You only have to look at some of the photographs to see how much fun was had (by the adults too – we love a good dance!) Our second activity was watching the competitors of the Ice Figure Skating Championships rehearse. We saw three different categories and were majorly impressed with their speed, skill, spins, jumps and musicality! We cheered them on, got waves and even got two beeps from one of the gentlemen riding the Zamboni!

The afternoon saw us ice skating. Every child gave it a try, even if it was hard and exhausting. When they fell down, they got back up again and their team work and support of each other was beautiful to watch. We even met up with our old buddy Tim, the Watercliffe Ice Penguin! Our final session (despite how tired we were) was athletics. There was sprinting, throwing, jumping and 200m races. The day certainly put us through our paces but we loved it! Well done Y4!

Science

This was such an exciting component this week. We finally got to get the electrical circuit equipment out and have a go at making a circuit and lighting the bulb! We understand that in order for the electrical energy to reach the bulb, we need to have a complete circuit. Some children even tested some of the equipment to find why a circuit may not light the bulb. We cannot wait for next week!

Y4GH

Our postcard recipient this week is for Hakimah. She rocked it on the ice at Ice Sheffield. Her and her penguin were doing lap after lap, and she even had a go solo for the whole time. Seeing her build in confidence was absolutely amazing!

Y4MB

Our postcard went to Ronnie for ‘Feel Proud’.  He had a few obstacles thrown his way this week but he got through them and still produced some lovely learning.
