28.11.25 Learners of the Week
Apologies for the late post, and thank you for all of you who were able to attend Step into Christmas.
Writing
Last week, we began our three week unit based around the book ‘Arthur and the Golden Rope’ by Joe Todd-Stanton. Our focus for the rest of the unit is to learn to use the correct punctuation for dialogue (speech!) We have been looking at key characters and what they might say – to Arthur – who may be about to embark on a dangerous adventure! The children have been so involved and have really gotten into the book!
UK Parliament Week
This week, is UK Parliament Week – an amazing opportunity for children to learn that we are a democratic country, what UK Parliament is, how it is different to the government and what it entails. We learnt about the Houses of Parliament, what the three main jobs of parliament are and even got to cast our own vote! It was actually really exciting!
Religious Education
We have been so impressed with everything the children know about the Pentecost, its main events and learning about the Holy Trinity and Holy Spirit. This week, we have learnt more about what these beliefs about the Holy Spirit means for Christians today.
Y4GH
The recipient of the postcard this week is Dolly. We have awarded her the ‘Value Being Special’ card. She is an amazing person to have around school and in class. Dolly makes everyone feel so special around her too, and the sun shines from within her!
Y4 PE Star of the Week:
Our PE Star of the Week this week is from Y4GH and it is Kairo. He has excellent sportsmanship and was noticed two weeks running for his engagement, excellent listening to all instructions and application of skills.
