W/E 14th November

A great week of learning!

It feels like such a long time since we’ve reported on our week, with half term as well. We cannot believe how fast autumn term is flying!

Reading

We have split into groups for our fluency project. Each week, we have a new text and we use a range of text marking to assist with reading aloud. The process each week is the same, and we give each other feedback and hints of how to improve so that we make loads of progress in a week! On a Friday, we get the opportunity to perform our text aloud to our group!

We also have so many children reading at home now – three weeks left to reach 40 reads for your bronze reading mileage badge!

Science

Science has been super-exciting since we started our sound unit. The children have been on a sound walk, played instruments, put a vibrating tuning fork in water and even made cup telephones. We have learnt so far that sound reaches our ear via vibrations and sound waves. The vibrations enter our ears. Next week, we will be learning about pitch.

Indoor PE

Dance is our unit this half term, and we have been acting in character… as spies! We are using music (that sounds just like James Bond!) to put together a sequence to the count of 8 beats. Then, we paired up to create the next section. Our children would definitely make great rhythmic spies!

Y4GH

Levi is being given the ‘Make Links’ postcard this week. He has been making links between our mastering number and our main maths lessons. He has shown super confidence in maths and this has really impacted on his progress – well done Levi!

Y4 PE Star of the Week:

Our PE Star of the Week this week is from Y4GH and it is Jack! He worked exceptionally well in both his PE sessions!

Y4MB

Our postcard of the week is for Noor and Enjoy Challenge. She always enjoys the challenge of learning in all lessons. Well done!

CLIC:

Last week was a tough week for CLIC – our hardest test yet and the first week after half term so we decided that we didn’t need to report the scores! It is the same this week. However, when they cycle comes around again, they will be better prepared as we will have covered more.
