19th September

Another amazing week!

We are settled into Year Four life already! It’s like we’ve always been together; we have had another amazing week.

Murton Park

You will see from the photographs how brilliant our day at Murton Park was. It was a perfect introduction to the Anglo-Saxons and will really help us in our history components throughout the half term. We were armed guards with spears and shields, made our own candles by dipping wicks in beeswax, played dice games and also did beautiful Anglo-Saxon writing. The children were like little sponges, soaking up new information and throwing themselves into all the experiences.

Music

This week has been the start of our exciting music sessions with Amy from the Sheffield Music Hub! We were each given our own clarinets for the duration of the sessions, and learnt how to put it together and take it apart. It is going to be an absolutely brilliant learning curve, until we can all play the clarinet – even if it is just a few notes!

Y4GH

Our postcard recipient this week is for Benjamin. He showed brilliant enthusiasm on the visit, and had a go at answering all the questions and engaging with the staff at Murton Park. He definitely deserves ‘Reflect and Share’.

Y4MB

Our postcard went to Thleyah who made so many Careful Choices that we lost count. In particular, she helped lots of others with their learning in class.
