Published 25/09/26, by Jen SteeleThe children have been really enjoying using the Year 1 yard and social time and playing with the different equipment we have. Whether it's the mud kitchen, the hill, hoops, hopscotch or just relaxing with their friends, social time is a very happy part of our day!

Published 25/09/26, by Olivia CruiseWe have had another fabulous week in Year 1. We have made minibeast hotels in Amy's Garden, recreated the Creation Story and designed our own crazy animals in Science!
Well done to Jamimah, who won our PE star of the week for showing great teamwork skills and following instructions.
Well done to both Coley and Aayah for receiving the 'Reflect and Share' postcards this week for always participating and sharing such carefully thought out answers! We are so proud of you!

Published 18/09/26, by Jen SteeleWhat a wonderful week! It is hard to believe that your fabulous children have only been in Year 1 for 3 weeks.
Well done to Kally who earned the Solve Problems badge for her brilliant work in maths this week, particularly working out 1 more and 1 less of a given number.
Teniola earned the Make Links badge for her careful thinking in Science.
Last week, Savannah earned the Learning Together badge for being such a great learning partner but she was unfortunately ill. She was able to get her badge this week!

Ayah was awarded PE star this week for her careful listening to instructions, excellent running technique and supporting her peers.
We also have our first 2 children on the Year 1 rocket. Banw and Shahzain are able to count forwards and backwards in 2s, 5s and 10s. We are very impressed!

Y1JS are going on Tuesdays.
Y1OC are going on Thursdays.
Last week we were looking at different leaves and using describing words like rough, smooth and bumpy.

Published 04/09/26, by Laura EvansWe have arranged a visit to Eureka on Thursday 22nd October 2026. We will be travelling to Eureka by coach, and will be setting off at 8.45am, so please make sure your child is in by 8:30am. We aim to be back in school by 4:00pm.

Published 03/09/26, by Jen SteeleOn Wednesday 9th of September at 2.45pm, there will be a phonics meeting in the studio for Year 1 families.
I will be discussing how our Read, Write, Inc. scheme runs, some of the language we use during our sessions and what you can expect to come home each week.
There will be resources given out during the session which will be available for any families who are not able to attend.
