Here is the F1 newsletter for Autumn 1. We can't wait to welcome our new starters and our returning nursery children to nursery.
We have had a lot more fun in nursery this week. We have played with the play dough, splashed in the water and filled containers with the sand. We have also enjoyed doing P.E. in the hall, playing tag games with our friends.
This week we have welcomed more new children into nursery. They loved PE on Tuesday morning where they played tag games. We have painted, played in the baby hospital, made collages and drawing our own faces.
We have had such a fun first two days back at nursery. We enjoyed playing in the provision with all our friends, we sat for register, story and golden time in our new Kiva learning area. We ate snack, played outside and even took part in circle time! What super stars we are!
This week in our small world play we have been making up adventure stories about Pirates and Mermaids. We had to do lots of turn taking and good sharing with our friends. The children made up some amazing stories.
We have been decorating paper plate fish in nursery this week. We have used lots of different resources to make them colourful. We have used sequins, glitter and sparkly squares. You have made some lovely rainbow coloured fish.
Today was our nursery seaside day and we had an amazing day. We wore our holiday clothes, had fun in the paddling pool and enjoyed eating our fish fingers, chips and ice creams! We also performed our big finish for lots of grown-ups, we sang our seaside songs that we have been learning and our oldest children performed a summer holiday dance that we had learnt. Our teachers were so proud of us as we have been absolutely fantastic this year. Thank you to everyone who came to watch us!
This week we have been looking at a book called Me And My Map. We talked about how we live in England, in a county called South Yorkshire, in a city called Sheffield. Miss Squires showed us on the map and then we had a go at making our own maps.
Some of our older children went to Cleethorpes this week, so we decided to have a beach in nursery for the children that didn't get to go. They have loved taking their shoes and socks off and feeling the sand between their toes. Ohh I do like to be beside the seaside.
Well what a wonderful day we had at Cleethorpes today! We began by eating our chippy dinner in the dolphin gardens picnic style. The food was very yummy! After our tummies were full, we walked down to the beach and from there the fun began. We had a donkey ride and spent time playing on the sand. We had a fantastic time! We finished the day by enjoying a yummy ice cream with sauce. It was delicious!
Our teachers were so proud of how amazing we all were. The lady with the donkeys said she thinks our school is the best as our children are always so well-behaved at such a young age! The children were an absolute credit to Watercliffe Meadow. They listened, behaved impeccably, had wonderful manners, and it was a delight to spend the day with them. Thank you so much for trusting us to take your little lovelies!
For your amusement, we have a before and after photo of the teachers who were feeling a little tired after the day! Haha! We hope the children sleep well tonight as we certainly will!
This week in nursery we have been playing in our Ice Cream Parlour role play area. The children have been serving up some delicious treats to each other.
This week in nursery we have been working together to build a train track. We have made long ones and short ones and been to some great places like Cleethorpes, the zoo and town. Great team work.
