What another amazing week!

We’ve had a fantastic week despite the pesky snow and even peskier ice trying to stop us!

Community Bus Project

This session was even more exciting than the last! Mandy came back in and we discussed how we were feeling about the community bus. These words were then recorded by the children with sticky tape and they used sponges to paint over the top. When the tape was removed it was a fantastic result!

Maths:

Our maths lessons this week are the first week of multiplication and division. We have been looking at the 3, 6 and 9 times tables and the links between them. We have completed many varying tasks around each multiplication fact and then consolidated all our knowledge on Thursday. We have so many children on the rocket now, and even more striving for it. Let’s try and get more of us passed by Christmas!

History:

The Anglo-Saxon and Viking struggle is our newest focus in our history lessons. We have been learning about the reputation of the Vikings and how they have a reputation for being bloodthirsty. This week we learnt about WHY they had this reputation and linked it back to the written words of Bede, a monk, and the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle. Ask your child what they know!

Y4GH:

Star of the Week is for Calia. She has been working so hard and is such a loving part of our class.

The Learning Principle postcard is for Reon. He is such a positive member of our class and nothing ever wipes the smile off his face for long! His happiness is infectious and he definitely deserves the Be Positive postcard.

We now have 16 children who have done 40 or more reads and will be receiving their bronze reading mileage badges before the Christmas holidays. Congratulations to Kenan, Charlie, Summer, Kurt, Harrison, Reon, Esmai H, Jessica, Mia, Narin, Alyssiah, Finn, Shayla, Esmae T, Olivia and Archie!

Y4MB

Star of the Week is for Corey. He has had his usual wonderful week of following the Golden Rules, being helpful and performing his best in all his learning.

The Learning Principle postcard was given to Oba for producing some excellent writing in his writing lessons and in his history lesson. It was truly special.

3 children have already done their 40 reads: Amina, Darcie and Ivy but there at least 3 more who are super close!

PE Star of the Week: This week, the PE star of the week is from Y4MB and is for Robyn. She demonstrated excellent skills to the class and worked well when performing.

CLIC:

Y4GH: It has been another fantastic week for CLIC! 6 children got full marks! Well done Abdul, Reon, Esmai H, Jessica, Finn and Archie! More children scored 9 or above: Kenan, Charlie, Calia, Kurt, Orlando, Harrison, Layla, Ellasu and Olivia.

Y4MB: Darcie and Naom got full marks in CLIC – fantastic! These children did brilliantly and scored 9 or above: Aklil, Corey, Charlie, Maisie, Robyn and Ivy.

Beat That:

Y4GH: Our top scorer was Esmai H with 27, fantastic work! Kenan, Orlando, Reon and Archie scored 21 or over.

Y4MB: Our top scorer was Aklil with full marks again – superb! Darcie scored 35, Naom 34 and Charlie 31 – so more excellent high scores! The others who scored over half marks are Amina, Corey and Robyn.
