Final week of a wonderful 1st halfterm.
The week that was!
How is it the end of the first half term already? We are so proud of how hard the children have all worked and what they have achieved. It has been 8 long weeks and we have crammed so much learning in!
History:
We have finished our unit on the Anglo-Saxons and have been learning all about what invasion is and the many reasons behind it. After half term, we will be learning about the struggle between the Anglo-Saxons and Vikings and will be starting the unit with a bang! It has also been wonderful to see such quality home learning being completed in relation to our history topic.
Indoor PE:
As we have had an eight-week half term, we made the decision to do a mini-bench ball tournament in indoor PE instead of gymnastics. The children really quickly picked up the rules and the skills, and children were completing catches to get onto the bench in no time at all!
Just a reminder, that after half term, indoor PE moves from a Tuesday to a Monday afternoon.
Music:
We are into our fifth week of music and the children have been overcoming many challenges by learning to play the clarinet. It has definitely been a little squeaky but we’re getting there and starting to conquer it!
Y4GH:
Star of the Week is for Sonny. He has been such a supportive classmate. Whenever anyone in a lesson needs a little extra helping hand, Sonny is there for them and either went and taught someone in the corridor for me last week!
The Learning Principle postcard is for Koby. He has definitely been ‘Enjoying Challenge’. He has put 110% into all his learning and is smashing his targets!
Y4MB
Star of the Week is for Ellie-May for doing an awesome piece of Home Learning.
The Learning Principle postcard was given to Amina for making lots of Careful Choices both in school and home with her learning.
PE Star of the Week: This week, the PE star of the week is from Y4MB and is for Charlie. He showed good listening and good effort.
CLIC:
Y4GH & Y4MB: CLIC wasn’t as successful this week as there were two trickier questions. However, we know the children gave their best!
