W/E 13th June
A hot and tiring week!
We have had another fabulous week! And we were so lucky with the weather for sports day too!
Sports Day:
What an afternoon! Even in the rising heat, your children did fantastically. They sat patiently waiting between their events and showed great team spirit by cheering on those in their colour group. They also gave it their absolute all - even if it wasn’t something they naturally excelled at. We cannot wait to celebrate with our peers more when the medals arrive, at our annual medal ceremony!
Science:
In our newer unit, animals including humans, we have been learning about digestion. This week, we got to use tights, cornflakes, orange juice, water and washing up liquid to recreate the process of what our bodies do to digest food. Have a good look at the photos when we post them next week - it was fun but disgusting!
Religious Education:
Our RE unit this half term is entitled ‘What does it mean to be a Hindu in Britain?’ So far we have learnt about what dharma is, and the duties that children are expected to fulfil and how this differs to adults. We talked about, how in school, following the Golden Rules are a part of our duty. This week, we listened to the story of Rama and Sita, linking it to what we have previously learnt. We then drew a story cube showing the six main events of the story.
Y4GH:
Star of the Week is for Harrison. Even after fracturing his ankle, he has come back to school ready and raring to go - fully learning focussed and catching up from where he left off - good job!
The Enjoy Challenge postcard is going to Ali this week. Every day, he uses his reading book to answer a range of comprehension questions. His confidence is growing, as is his accuracy!
Y4MB
The Learning Principle (Feel Proud) is to Lily-Rose. She has been in every single day, she has worked hard and she has smiled as she has done it! Well done.
Star of the Week is for Darcie. Darcie will always help others and explain learning that they find tricky. She is a star!
PE Star of the Week: Our Y4 PE Star of the Week is Ivy. She had a tricky session but she persevered and produced her best. Well done!
