The first week back

We cannot believe that this is the last half term. The children, as they are every week, have been hard working and full of beans! In maths we have looked at ‘time’. It is hard but they have worked wonderfully well. If you get chance can you try to support them in learning the time to 5 minutes. In writing we have worked on our modal verbs and our conjunctions to help us persuade. We had a lovely art session in which the children created their own still life from fruit. They took photos and we will be turning these in to paintings. We continued looking at Ordnance Survey maps in geography.

 

 

Y4GH:

Star of the Week is for Ellasu. She showed great confidence and skill at our swimming sessions this week. She could jump into the pool and then swim lengths on her front and back.

 

Summer is the recipient of our postcard this week. She is really smashing swimming. Us adults, and all of the children, are unbelievably proud of how far she has come with her lessons. This week, she had some of her armbands taken off, learnt to get in the pool by herself and swam length after length. Summer – you make me so smiley! It has been a privilege to be there and see you.

 

PE Star of the Week: Our Y4 PE Star of the Week is Ali. This is another swimming themed reward. Ali has shown nothing but exceptional enthusiasm since his first lesson. He is slowly developing his technique and can swim lengths!

 

Y4MB

The Learning Principle (Careful Choices) postcard was awarded to Thanos. For the second week in a row he has produced some excellent writing and done what was asked.

 

Star of the Week is Oba. He has had such a positive week. He has worked so well and produced excellent work. He shared some amazing knowledge in our RE sessions.

Y4GH: We had 14 children get the maximum 12/12: Archie, Olivia, Esmae, Jacob, Finn, Louie, Sonny, Ashton, Mia, Levia, Jessica, Layla, Reon and Harrison. Just amazing. Well done everyone! Ellasu, Kurt and Calia also scored 10!

 

Y4MB: 8 children reached the magical full marks with their hard work today. Maisie, Darcie, Charlie, Aklil, Robyn, Ivy, Corey and Naom got 12/12. Olly and Kamari were super close with 11/12 and 10/12 respectively. Boom!

 

Beat That:

Y4GH: Archie top scored with an amazing 48. Reon, Layla, Jessica, Ashton, Sonny, Finn, Esmae and Olivia all scored over 20! Excellent work everyone!

 

Y4MB: The flying high continues in Mr B’s class too! Aklil scored another amazing score of 88. Both Charlie and Darcie scored 42 each.  All these children scored 20 or over: Olly, Kamari, Naom, Maisie, Holly, Robyn and Ivy. Excellent.

 

Spellings:

Y4GH: There were 7 full marks in spelling this week: Reon, Layla, Sonny, Louie, Finn, Archie and Mia. This is really reflective of the hard work that is being put in at home. Esmae and Jessica were close with 9/10.

 

Y4MB: There were 7 full marks in Mr B’s class too! Well done to Aklil, Darcie, Ivy, Corey, Charlie, Maisie and Robyn. Viren and Sharon were close with 9/10. Brogan matched her previous highest score.
