Welcome back to nursery after the Christmas holidays. We hope you all had a lovely break! Welcome to our new starters in nursery. This half term we will be learning about dinosaurs and also animals that live in Africa, we are already very excited to be learning about dinosaurs as we have lots of dino experts in nursery! Attached is the newsletter to tell you what we are learning, key vocabulary, key dates and names of staff.
The children have had so much fun exploring in nursery this week. They have played in all the different areas building towers, painting and making buns in the playdough.
We have had a lovely time today at our animal workshops. The children (and adults) were very brave and we met lots of exciting animals like Tiddles the Tortoise and Socks the Snake.
This term in nursery we are learning all about dinosaurs! We have been role playing as palaeontologists, exploring the dino dig, brushing around the sand looking for dinosaur bones!
What a fun day we have had in the snow today. We sledged, dug and just had a whale of a time
What a lovely week we have had back at nursery! We welcomed lots of new children into nursery and have been enjoying learning about dinosaurs. What a fun week!
Yesterday was our Nursery Christmas Party and we had a fantastic day! We played pass the parcel, musical bumps and had a disco. We ate some party food all together. The best thing was a surprise visit from Father Christmas who brought us all a present while we were in the hall having fun! He made a bit of a mess in nursery with his snowy footprints, but the teachers didn't mind! What a fun time we had!
The children have recently been putting chairs together to play trains, so we thought it would be a great idea to introduce a Polar Express role play area to let their little imaginations run wild with. We have seen lots of interesting characters boarding, some familiar from our stores and some new ones! The children have been taking the train to the beach, to the park for a picnic, to the North and South Pole just to name a few destinations!
We have filled our golden coin jar and as a treat had pizza for snack this week, well we are super stars and totally deserve it!
The children have enjoyed making up stories with all the different fairy tale characters. They have used their imagination and interacted with their peers.
We have had such a lovely day with our families for our Christmas workshops. We had so many families join us and the children did some great Christmas decorations.
We have listened to the story the Gingerbread Man this week in nursery. We have done lots of fun activities using our cutting and writing skills. We have made some delicious gingerbread men on the playdough table.
