We have some fantastic additions in nursery, we have some caterpillars that have joined nursery. We have been enjoying observing them and finding out what happens. They started off really tiny but are now enormous and are beginning to make their chrysalis. We can't wait to see them turn into butterflies.
This week in nursery we have been busy planting Sunflower seeds. The children have really impressed their teachers with how much they know about planting and what seeds need to make them grow. We can't wait to see what happens to the seeds over the next couple of weeks. Isla has sent some photos in of the seeds she is growing at home, thank you Isla we look forward to hearing how well your seeds are doing at home.
This week we have been developing our fine motor skills. We had to trace over the pictures and try to stay on the lines. We needed to concentrate really hard. It was very tricky !
We have some more wonderful photos of our nursery children enjoying Eid. Hussien, Zayyan and Aisha had a fantastic time celebrating!
Here are some photos of Banw, Kenan, Khayree, Amal and Hassan celebrating Eid. What lovely photos guys, I hope you all enjoyed your Eid celebrations.
Kane enjoyed spending his book voucher that he won at the nursery workshops. He got himself a mini-beast book and his Auntie Katie bought him another because he couldn't decide which one he wanted most. I'm glad you enjoyed your book voucher Kane.
Pip was delivered to nursery last week in a box, he was frozen. the children thought of ideas to warm him up and look after him. This week he has set them tasks to do, such as build a house for him, draw a map for him to get back to the South Pole and make him some friends using soft stuff.
This week in our role play area we have been dressing up in warm clothes and sleeping in an igloo. The children have really enjoyed pretending to be Arctic explorers.
Today was Red Nose Day and we dressed in our red clothes, wore our red noses and had lots of fun! Don't we look fab!
Today some of our oldest nursery children visited Cannon Hall Farm as part of our learning about Farms. We saw a ferret race, a sheep race, had a tractor ride, went on a tour around the farm to see all the animals we have been learning about. We went in the mammal house and reptile house too. The weather was beautiful and we had so much fun! The children impressed us all with how much knowledge they had retained from the learning we have done in nursery. They were able to share this knowledge on their tour around the farm. They were so well-behaved and all the teachers were so proud of them! What a credit to our school they are!
We have been exploring ice and Arctic animals in nursery this week. We have talked about how the ice is made, how it feels to touch it and what happens to it when it is left out in nursery.
